Galvanized Steel Small Pole Band Clamp for Utility Poles
The galvanized steel small pole band clamp is a formed pole-line hardware component used to secure mounting brackets, cable fittings and other accessories to round utility poles, pipes or similar supporting structures.
Each half band is manufactured from flat carbon-steel strip. Its curved center section follows the surface of the pole, while the flat ends contain mounting holes for bolts. Two matching half bands are normally installed around the pole and tightened using bolts, nuts and washers to create a complete clamping assembly.
This compact pole band is suitable for applications requiring a smaller pole diameter or a lightweight mounting arrangement. The actual pole diameter, band width, steel thickness, hole diameter and bolt specification must be selected according to the equipment being installed and the approved pole-line drawing.
Supply-scope notice: The product photographs mainly show individual half-band components. Bolts, nuts, washers and a matching second half may be included or supplied separately. The exact configuration must be stated in the quotation and packing list.

Product Configurations
Single Half Band
A single curved steel strap can be supplied as a replacement component or as part of a customer-specific mounting arrangement. The buyer must confirm whether one piece or a matched pair is required.
Complete Two-Piece Pole Band
Two compatible half bands are installed on opposite sides of the pole and tightened using bolts, nuts and washers. The inside diameter of the assembled clamp must match the actual pole diameter.
Customized Pole Band
The bending radius, straight-end length, hole diameter, hole spacing, strip width and strip thickness can be manufactured according to the customer’s drawing or physical sample.
Materials and Manufacturing
The pole band is normally manufactured from flat carbon steel selected for adequate formability and mechanical strength. The steel strip is cut to length, punched at both ends and formed to the required pole-contact radius.
The bending process must not create cracks, sharp folds or excessive thinning in the curved section. Hole positions and end alignment must be controlled so that the two halves can be assembled without forcing the bolts out of alignment.
Surface Treatment
Hot-Dip Galvanized Finish
Hot-dip galvanizing provides a protective zinc coating for outdoor utility-pole applications. Coating requirements can be specified according to ISO 1461, GB/T 13912 or an applicable customer standard.
Zinc-Plated Finish
Zinc plating provides a smoother and generally thinner metallic finish. It may be selected for indoor, sheltered or light-duty applications when required by the project specification.
The photographs alone cannot establish whether the products are hot-dip galvanized or zinc plated. The required coating process and minimum coating requirement must be confirmed before production.
Typical Applications
- Concrete utility poles
- Wooden poles
- Steel poles and round pipes
- Distribution-line accessory mounting
- Telecommunications cable hardware
- ADSS and OPGW accessory-support assemblies
- Secondary racks and small mounting brackets
- Grounding-conductor and conduit supports
- Project-specific pole attachments
Installation Guidance
- Measure the actual pole diameter at the installation position.
- Select two matching half bands with the correct bending radius.
- Confirm the bolt diameter, bolt length and hole spacing.
- Position the two half bands on opposite sides of the pole.
- Insert the specified bolts through the aligned mounting holes.
- Install washers and nuts according to the approved drawing.
- Tighten both sides evenly to prevent the clamp from tilting.
- Do not overtighten the assembly and damage a concrete, wooden or composite pole.
- Check that the mounted accessory is correctly positioned and cannot rotate.
- Inspect the assembly periodically for corrosion, loose fasteners or deformation.
Quality Inspection
- Steel material and strip-dimension inspection
- Band width and thickness inspection
- Bending radius and pole-fit inspection
- Hole diameter and center-distance inspection
- End alignment and paired-assembly inspection
- Visual inspection for cracks, burrs and sharp edges
- Galvanized coating appearance and thickness inspection when specified
- Bolt and nut fit inspection when fasteners are included
- Mechanical load testing according to the agreed drawing when required

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the photograph showing a complete pole band?
No. The photographs mainly show individual half bands. A typical complete clamp requires two compatible halves and the specified bolts, nuts and washers.
How should the clamp size be selected?
The bending radius and assembled inside diameter must match the pole diameter at the exact installation position. Pole diameter should be measured before ordering.
Are bolts and nuts included?
They can be included or supplied separately. Bolt diameter, length, material grade, coating and quantity must be stated in the purchase specification.
Can the clamp be installed on a concrete pole?
Yes, when the clamp radius, tightening method and design load are suitable for the concrete pole. Excessive tightening must be avoided to prevent local damage.
Can custom dimensions be manufactured?
Yes. Pole diameter, strip width, thickness, hole size, hole spacing and surface finish can be produced according to an approved drawing or sample.
