High-Strength U-Type Shackle with Bolt and Nut

Materials and Construction
The main U-shaped body and connecting bolt are manufactured from high-strength steel according to the approved product drawing. The fitting is normally supplied with a hot-dip galvanized surface for corrosion protection in outdoor environments.
The nut, cotter pin, steel grade, heat-treatment condition, thread specification and coating requirements must be confirmed according to the selected model and customer specification. Material grades must not be substituted without technical approval.
Product Function
The U-type shackle provides a detachable mechanical connection between compatible overhead-line fittings. Its U-shaped body can be connected to eye plates, yoke plates, tower attachment points and other fittings used in suspension or tension insulator assemblies.
The selected shackle must have compatible connection dimensions and a specified mechanical strength suitable for the complete fitting assembly. The allowable service load must be determined according to the project design and applicable safety factor.

Reference Standards
The fitting can be manufactured and inspected with reference to IEC 61284 for overhead-line fittings when specified in the purchase contract. Hot-dip galvanized coatings can be specified with reference to ISO 1461:2022 or the applicable customer and project standard.
